Description

These Bacon Wrapped Grilled Brussels Sprouts are a delicious and easy veggie side dish that combines crispy bacon with tender Brussels sprouts, perfect for any BBQ.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 to 1.5 pounds fresh Brussels sprouts (Look for firm sprouts with tight leaves.)
  • 10 to 14 slices bacon (Regular cut bacon works best.)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil (Optional, helps with browning.)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (Use less if bacon is salty.)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • to taste garlic powder, smoked paprika, or brown sugar (Optional seasonings.)
  • Skewers (Use metal or wooden soaked in water.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  2. Rinse Brussels sprouts and peel off any sad leaves. Trim the tough end slightly.
  3. Halve medium or large sprouts. Keep smaller ones whole.
  4. Toss sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Cut bacon slices in half if they are long.
  6. Wrap each sprout with bacon, overlapping slightly.
  7. Thread the wrapped sprouts onto skewers.

Grilling

  1. Grill for about 12 to 18 minutes, turning every 3 to 4 minutes.
  2. Check for tenderness of sprouts and crispness of bacon.
  3. If bacon browns too fast, move to a cooler part of the grill.

Notes

Serve right off the grill for the best flavor. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in an oven for best results.
