Description

This easy one-pan recipe features sweet potatoes and sausage tossed in a delicious honey garlic sauce, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 12 oz Smoked sausage or fully cooked sausage, sliced into coins (Kielbasa style sausage is recommended.)
  • 2 cups Sweet potatoes, peeled or unpeeled, cut into bite-size chunks (Cut sweet potatoes close in size for even cooking.)
  • 1/4 cup Honey (Can adjust amount based on sweetness preference.)
  • 3 cloves Garlic, fresh minced or grated (Add more for extra garlic flavor.)
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce or coconut aminos (Can substitute with Worcestershire sauce.)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Salt (Adjust according to taste, especially if sausage is salty.)
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Paprika or red pepper flakes (Optional for heat.)
  • 1 cup Optional vegetables (broccoli, bell peppers, or red onion) (Add for extra color and flavor.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This ensures better browning.
  2. In a small bowl, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and a splash of olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. On a sheet pan, toss sweet potatoes with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast for 10 to 15 minutes to give them a head start.
  4. Remove the pan from the oven, add sliced sausage and any quick-cooking vegetables, and pour the honey garlic sauce over everything. Toss to combine.
  5. Roast everything for another 15 to 20 minutes, stirring once midway through, until sausage is browned and sweet potatoes are fork-tender.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning. Drizzle with additional honey for a glossy finish if desired.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcrowding the pan; this prevents steaming. Use parchment paper for easier cleanup and to promote browning.
