Ingredients
For the Beef
- 1 pound Ground beef (80 to 85 percent lean) (Use a decent fat percentage for classic crispy, juicy results.)

- 4 slices Cheese slices (cheddar, American, or your choice)
- 2 cups Romaine or iceberg lettuce (Chopped for crunch.)
- 1 cup Tomatoes, diced
- 1 cup Pickles, chopped or sliced
- 1/2 cup Red onion, thinly sliced (optional) (Optional but recommended.)
- 2 cups Cooked potatoes or fries (optional) (For added heartiness.)
For the Burger Sauce
- 3 tablespoons Mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon Pickle relish (or finely chopped pickles)
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1 pinch Paprika

Instructions
Preparation
- Prep the bowls first. Chop lettuce, slice tomatoes, chop pickles, and set everything out like a little topping bar.
- Make the sauce by mixing mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and season with salt and pepper, then refrigerate.
Cooking
- Heat a large skillet or griddle until hot.
- Divide ground beef into loose balls of about 2 to 3 ounces each.
- Smash a beef ball in the hot pan, season with salt and pepper, and cook until edges are brown.
- Flip, add cheese, and cook for another minute or two until melted.
Assembly
- Build your bowls starting with lettuce, then toppings like tomatoes, pickles, onions, and potatoes if using.
- Top with the cheesy smashed beef and drizzle with burger sauce.
