Description

A simple and quick dessert that combines layers of strawberry pie filling, cream cheese, cake mix, and melted butter for a cozy treat that’s impossible to mess up.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 can strawberry pie filling (about 21 ounces)
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 ounces)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened (Let it sit out for 15-20 minutes for easier use.)
  • 1 stick butter (half cup), melted (Real butter is preferred for best flavor.)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (Optional but recommended.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Spray a 9 by 13 inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  3. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly in the bottom of the dish.
  4. Dot the cream cheese all over the pie filling.
  5. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly across the top. Do not stir.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix as evenly as possible.

Baking

  1. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until the top looks golden and the edges are bubbling.
  2. Let it cool for at least 15 minutes before scooping.

Notes

Let the cream cheese soften before adding it to the pie filling for a smoother bake. Can be served with ice cream or whipped cream for an extra special treat.
