Description

A quick and easy summer dessert that transforms ripe peaches into a warm, flavorful treat with cinnamon and sugar, perfect for warm evenings.

Ingredients

For the Baked Peaches

  • 2 to 4 pieces fresh peaches, halved and pitted (Use ripe peaches for best results.)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons brown sugar (or regular sugar) (Brown sugar is preferred for added flavor.)
  • 1 to 1.5 teaspoons cinnamon (Optional: Add more if desired.)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons butter, cut into tiny pieces (Optional but recommended for richness.)
  • 1 pinch of salt (Enhances sweetness.)
  • 1 splash of vanilla (Optional for added flavor.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut peaches in half and remove the pits.
  3. Place peaches cut side up in a baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and a tiny pinch of salt.
  5. Spoon the cinnamon sugar mix over the peaches.
  6. Add a little butter piece on top of each peach half, if using.

Baking

  1. Bake the peaches in the preheated oven for 15 to 25 minutes, depending on ripeness.
  2. Check for tenderness; they should be bubbly and slightly caramelized.
  3. For additional caramelization, broil for 30 to 60 seconds at the end, keeping a close watch.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, Greek yogurt, or whipped cream for an elevated treat. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
