Description

A quick and easy recipe for Air Fryer Mahi Mahi that delivers tender, flaky fish with a delicious lemon garlic butter sauce, perfect for a busy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 fillets mahi mahi fillets (about 5 to 7 ounces each), fresh or thawed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, plus lemon wedges for serving
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional but so good)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional for that fresh finish)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F for about 3 minutes.
  2. Lightly oil the basket or use perforated parchment if you have it. Pat the fish dry with paper towels, then rub both sides with olive oil and season with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Cooking

  1. Place the seasoned mahi mahi fillets in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  2. Air fry for 7 to 10 minutes depending on thickness. Start checking for doneness at 7 minutes.
  3. While the fish is cooking, melt the butter in a small pan or microwave safe bowl and stir in minced garlic. Let it sit for 30 seconds, then add lemon juice and zest.
  4. When the fish is done, spoon the lemon garlic butter over the top and finish with parsley if desired. Serve immediately with extra lemon wedges.

Notes

Make sure to allow the fish to rest for 1 minute before serving to keep it juicy. If cooking from frozen, cook at 380°F for 4 minutes first to thaw, then follow the same seasoning and cooking instructions.
