Description

These warm, cheesy Ham and Cheese Pinwheels are an easy and crowd-friendly snack that are perfect for brunch or quick gatherings.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 tube Crescent roll dough (Refrigerated tube is the easiest to use.)
  • 8 slices Ham (Deli slices or leftover ham work well.)
  • 1 cup Cheese (Sliced or shredded cheese that melts well, like cheddar or Swiss.)

Optional Flavor Boosters

  • 1 tablespoon Mustard or honey mustard (Adds great flavor.)
  • 4 ounces Cream cheese (Optional for extra creaminess.)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder or Italian seasoning (Optional for added flavor.)
  • 1 tablespoon Butter (For brushing the top.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (or as directed on your crescent dough package). Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough on a cutting board and press the seams together to form one rectangle. Let it rest for 2 minutes if it’s difficult to work with.
  3. Spread a thin layer of mustard or cream cheese over the dough.
  4. Layer ham slices evenly over the dough, followed by cheese.
  5. Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Tuck in the ends if they look messy.
  6. Using a serrated knife, slice the log into 1-inch pieces. If the log feels soft, chill it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes before slicing.

Baking

  1. Place the slices cut side up on the sheet pan and bake until golden and cheese is bubbling, about 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Allow pinwheels to cool for 3 to 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, do not overfill the rolls. Chill the rolled log before slicing to ensure clean cuts.
