  • 1 pound Ground beef (85% lean recommended)
  • 1 Onion, diced (For flavor base)
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced (Add during onion cooking)
  • 15 ounces Tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup Beef broth (To help cook the pasta)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream (Can use half and half or milk)
  • 1 cup Cheese (parmesan, cheddar, or mozzarella) (For creaminess)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper


Instructions

Preparation

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large deep skillet or pot. Break it up, season with salt and pepper, and cook until no longer pink. Drain extra grease if needed.
  2. Add diced onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and stir for 30 to 60 seconds.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce and beef broth. Add Italian seasoning and a pinch of paprika.
  4. Add uncooked pasta straight into the pan. Stir well so the pasta is mostly covered.
  5. Cover and simmer, stirring every couple of minutes, until pasta is tender (usually 10 to 14 minutes depending on shape).
  6. Turn heat to low. Stir in heavy cream and cheese until creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning.

Notes

For a different flavor, you can try adding red pepper flakes for heat or substitute ground turkey. Leftovers can be reheated gently with a splash of broth to maintain creaminess.
