Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 4 fillets Cod fillets (about 4 to 6 ounces each)
- 1 cup Grated Parmesan (Fine grated works best for a tighter crust)
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs (For a crisp top)
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder (Use minced garlic for a stronger flavor)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (Or a mix of oregano and parsley)
- to taste Salt and pepper (For seasoning the cod)
- 4 tablespoons Melted butter (Or olive oil, or a mix)
- 1 whole Lemon (Wedges for serving)
Instructions
Preparation
- Heat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a sheet pan with foil or parchment for easy cleanup.
- Pat the cod dry with paper towels to help the topping stick.
- Place the cod on the pan and lightly season with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, mix Parmesan, panko, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and melted butter until it resembles moist crumbs.
- Spoon the mixture on top of each fillet and gently press it down.
Cooking
- Bake for about 10 to 12 minutes, depending on the thickness, until the fish flakes easily.
- For more color, broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end, watching closely to prevent burning.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
For crisp crust, dry the fish properly. Use fine grated Parmesan for better binding with the crumbs. Broil with care to avoid burning.
