Description

A quick and refreshing fruit salad featuring crisp apples and grapes, enhanced with a cozy cinnamon dressing. Perfect for potlucks and snacky dinners!

Ingredients

Fruit Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked crisp apples, diced (about 2 to 3 cups) (Best apples: Honeycrisp, Gala, Fuji, Pink Lady, or Granny Smith.)
  • 2 cups seedless grapes, halved (red, green, or a mix) (Halving helps the dressing coat them better.)

Dressing Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (Helps with browning and brightens flavor.)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (Can substitute with vanilla yogurt for a sweeter dressing.)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (To taste.)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (Start with 1 teaspoon and adjust to taste.)
  • 1 pinch salt (Enhances the natural sweetness of the fruit.)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts or pecans (Optional for added crunch.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Wash the grapes and apples. Dry the grapes to prevent the salad from becoming watery.
  2. Cut the grapes in half to help the dressing coat them and make the salad easier to eat.
  3. Dice the apples into bite-sized chunks and immediately toss them with lemon juice in a large bowl.
  4. In a small bowl, stir together Greek yogurt, honey, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Pour the dressing over the fruit and gently mix until everything is coated.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness with more honey if desired, or add more cinnamon for a cozier flavor.
  7. Optionally, sprinkle nuts on top right before serving for added crunch.

Serving

  1. Let the salad chill for 10 minutes for best flavor, but it can be enjoyed immediately.

Notes

For the best freshness, consume within 24 hours. Store in an airtight container in the fridge. To keep apples from browning, toss them with lemon juice immediately.
