For the Pancake Batter

  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt (Enhances chocolate flavor.)
  • 3/4 cup Milk (Dairy or non-dairy options available.)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tbsp Butter, melted (Or use oil instead.)

For Frying

  • Oil Vegetable, canola, or sunflower oil (For frying.)
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon sugar (Optional for coating.)


Instructions

Preparation

  1. Spread Nutella on one slice of bread, leaving a small border.
  2. Top with another slice of bread and press the edges gently.
  3. Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in one bowl; in another bowl whisk milk, egg, and melted butter.
  4. Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Chill the assembled sandwiches in the freezer for 10 minutes.

Cooking

  1. Heat enough oil in a small pot or deep pan.
  2. Dip the sandwich into the pancake batter, coating both sides.
