Description
Quick and easy Air Fryer Apple Fries that deliver a warm, cozy, and slightly crispy treat without the hassle of deep frying.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 2 large large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp are great) (Choose firm apples for best results.)
- 1 tablespoon oil (avocado or light olive oil, or use cooking spray) (Use low-oil cooking methods.)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (For dusting and flavor.)
- 2-3 tablespoons sugar (white, brown, or coconut sugar) (Adjust to preference.)
- 1 pinch salt (Optional but enhances flavor.)
- 3 tablespoons flour (all-purpose, or gluten-free blend) (Helps the coating stick.)
- 1 large egg (Or substitute with milk or yogurt.)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch, or crushed cornflakes) (Adds crunchiness.)
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your air fryer for a couple of minutes.
- Mix cinnamon, sugar, and a tiny pinch of salt in a small bowl.
- Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with breadcrumbs.
- Toss apple sticks lightly in flour, dip in egg, then press into breadcrumbs.
- Lightly oil or spray the air fryer basket and arrange apple fries in a single layer.
Cooking
- Air fry at 380°F for 8 to 11 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
- Toss in cinnamon sugar while warm for best coating.
Notes
For best results, do not overcrowd the basket, and pat apples dry if very juicy. Dipping sauces like caramel and yogurt enhance the experience.
