Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, salt, and flour until evenly coated.
- Pour the apple mixture into a buttered baking dish.
Biscuit Topping
- In another bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in milk and vanilla until just combined; do not overmix.
- Dollop the biscuit topping over the apples, leaving gaps for steam.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
