Description
A quick and satisfying skillet dinner featuring ground turkey coated in a sticky sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 pound Ground turkey (Use 93% lean for more flavor.)
- 3 tablespoons Honey (Adjust to taste.)
- 3-5 cloves Garlic, minced (Or 1 to 2 teaspoons garlic paste.)
- 3 tablespoons Soy sauce (Low sodium is preferred.)
- 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar (For tanginess.)
- 1 teaspoon Sesame oil (Optional but recommended.)
- 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated (Optional.)
- splash Water or broth (To loosen sauce if needed.)
- Salt and pepper (Use sparingly due to soy sauce.)
- Green onions and sesame seeds (For topping, optional.)
Instructions
Preparation
- In a small bowl, mix together the honey, soy sauce, vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger if using.
- Brown the ground turkey in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon until no longer pink. Allow extra liquid to cook off.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked turkey, stirring to coat. Let it bubble gently for a few minutes until it becomes glossy and sticky.
- Finish by adding sesame oil, tasting and adjusting seasoning with more honey or vinegar if necessary.
- Serve immediately, topped with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
Notes
Great for meal prep. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat with a splash of water to thicken the sauce if necessary.
