- 8 oz Cream cheese (Softened (full fat is creamier, reduced fat can be used))
- 2 pcs Jalapenos (Fresh for crunch, pickled for tang, or a mix)
- 1 cup Shredded cheddar (Sharp cheddar brings the most flavor)
- 1/2 cup Sour cream or Greek yogurt (For a softer, scoopable texture)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder (For flavor enhancement)
- 1 tsp Onion powder (For flavor enhancement)
- to taste Salt (Adjust per preference)
- to taste Black pepper (Adjust per preference)
Optional Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Green onions (For garnish and fresh flavor)
- 1/4 cup Cilantro (For garnish and fresh flavor)
Instructions
Preparation
- Let the cream cheese sit out for 30 to 45 minutes, or microwave it for about 10 seconds at a time until softened.
- Stir in sour cream (or Greek yogurt) until smooth.
- Mix in shredded cheddar, chopped jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Taste the mixture and adjust salt and heat according to preference before baking.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread the dip mixture into a small baking dish and top with extra cheddar if desired.
- Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until hot and lightly bubbling around the edges.
- Optional: Broil for the last 1 to 2 minutes to get golden spots on top.
Notes
Serve with tortilla chips, kettle chips, crackers, toasted baguette slices, or veggies. This dip can be made ahead and baked before serving.
