Description
A simple and forgiving oven-baked BBQ chicken recipe that yields juicy, flavorful results without the need for a grill.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 4 pieces Chicken pieces (thighs, drumsticks, or breasts) (Any cut works; adjust cooking time accordingly.)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (Use store-bought or homemade, as per preference.)
- 1 teaspoon Salt (For seasoning.)
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper (For seasoning.)
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder (For added flavor.)
- 1 teaspoon Paprika (For color and warmth.)
- 1 tablespoon Oil (To prevent sticking.)
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line your pan with foil for easy cleanup.
- Season the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Lightly oil the pan or rub a little oil on the chicken.
Baking
- Place the chicken in the oven without sauce for the first part of cooking for about 20–25 minutes.
- Brush a generous layer of BBQ sauce on the chicken and bake again for an additional 15–20 minutes.
- For extra stickiness, add more BBQ sauce near the end of the cooking time.
Finishing Touch
- Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes after baking to keep the juices locked in.
Notes
To ensure the chicken is cooked properly, always check with an instant-read thermometer; aim for 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part. For crispy skin, consider using the broiler at the end for a few minutes.
