A quick and satisfying keto-friendly alternative to an Italian sub, featuring crispy lettuce and layers of savory meats, cheese, and homemade dressing.


Ingredients

Wrap Base

  • 4 leaves Iceberg lettuce leaves (Big leaves for sturdy wraps.)

Deli Meats

  • 2 ounces Salami (Look for genoa or soppressata.)
  • 2 ounces Pepperoni (Thinly sliced.)
  • 2 ounces Prosciutto (Use sparingly for texture.)

Cheese

  • 1 slice Provolone cheese (Adds a distinct mild flavor.)

Toppings

  • 1/4 cup Banana peppers (Mild sweetness and texture.)
  • 1/4 cup Red onions (Soak in cold water for milder flavor.)
  • 1 medium Tomato (Adds juiciness.)

Italian Dressing

  • 3 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil (Base of the dressing.)
  • 1 tablespoon Red wine vinegar (For acidity.)
  • 1 clove Garlic (Grated garlic clove.)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (Adds flavor depth.)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano (For seasoning.)
  • pinch Red pepper flakes (For added heat.)
  • to taste Sea salt and black pepper (For seasoning.)


Instructions

Preparation

  1. Wash and dry your lettuce thoroughly to maintain crunch.
  2. Lay down two big lettuce leaves slightly overlapping.
  3. Place a slice of cheese near the bottom center.
  4. Layer deli meats on top of the cheese.
  5. Add thin slices of red onion and banana peppers.
  6. Drizzle a small line of dressing over the fillings.

Assembly

  1. Fold the sides of the lettuce inward first.
  2. Roll from the bottom up, tucking the edge tightly under the fillings.
  3. Continue rolling to the top to form a snug wrap.

Notes
