Description

A no-bake snack mix that combines the flavors of strawberry shortcake with the classic crunch of puppy chow, perfect for parties and movie nights.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 6 to 7 cups Chex or Crispix cereal (Rice Chex, Corn Chex, or Crispix can be used.)
  • 10 to 12 ounces white chocolate chips or white melting wafers (Adding butter helps it melt smoother.)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (optional) (Helps the chocolate melt smoother.)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (For coating the mixture.)
  • 1 to 1.5 cups freeze-dried strawberries (crushed into powder) (Do not replace with fresh strawberries.)
  • 1 pinch salt (optional) (Helps balance sweetness.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Add cereal to a very large mixing bowl.
  2. Melt the white chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl.
  3. Pour melted chocolate over the cereal.
  4. Gently fold until the cereal is evenly coated.
  5. In a large zip-top bag or container, combine powdered sugar and crushed freeze-dried strawberries.
  6. Add the coated cereal, seal, and shake until fully coated.
  7. Spread on a sheet pan to cool and set for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Notes

Store in an airtight container. Stays crunchy for about 4 to 5 days. Can freeze well in a zip bag.
