Description

A quick and comforting breakfast sandwich made using frozen waffles and melty cheese, perfect for busy mornings.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Frozen waffles (Classic or Belgian style both work)
  • 1 tablespoon Butter (Or a little mayo for extra browning, totally optional)
  • 1 cup Cheese (Choose a melting cheese like cheddar, havarti, mozzarella, Swiss, or cream cheese)
  • 1 tablespoon Maple syrup or strawberry jam (Optional sweet touch)
  • 1 slice Cooked bacon or deli ham (Optional savory add ons)
  • Pinch of salt (If using very mild cheese)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Toast the waffles lightly, they should be warmed and a little crisp.
  2. Build the sandwich by placing one waffle down, adding cheese, and topping with another waffle.
  3. Butter the outside of both waffles.
  4. Grill the sandwich in a skillet over low to medium heat for 2 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula.
  5. Let the sandwich rest for one minute before slicing.

Notes

Serve with fresh fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, or hash browns. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat in a toaster oven for crispiness.
