- 1 cup Cheese (Choose a melting cheese like cheddar, havarti, mozzarella, Swiss, or cream cheese)
- 1 tablespoon Maple syrup or strawberry jam (Optional sweet touch)
- 1 slice Cooked bacon or deli ham (Optional savory add ons)
- Pinch of salt (If using very mild cheese)
Instructions
Preparation
- Toast the waffles lightly, they should be warmed and a little crisp.
- Build the sandwich by placing one waffle down, adding cheese, and topping with another waffle.
- Butter the outside of both waffles.
- Grill the sandwich in a skillet over low to medium heat for 2 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula.
- Let the sandwich rest for one minute before slicing.
Notes
Serve with fresh fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, or hash browns. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat in a toaster oven for crispiness.
