  • to taste Black pepper (Adjust to taste.)
  • optional Celery salt, cayenne, lime (For extra flavor.)

Instructions

Cooking Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  2. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 4 to 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  3. Stir in tomato paste and spices (chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika). Let cook for about 1 minute.
  4. Pour in the tomato juice, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Stir well.
  5. Bring to a gentle simmer. Turn the heat down and let bubble uncovered for 30 to 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning. Add salt, more hot sauce, or a squeeze of lime if desired.

Notes

This chili tastes better the next day. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat with a splash of water or tomato juice to loosen.
