- 1 lb Ground beef (Browned and drained)
- 8 pieces Hot dogs or smoked sausages (Sliced to tuck in)
- 3 cloves Garlic (Chopped)
- 1 32 ounce bag Tater tots, frozen (Do not thaw)
- 1 10 ounce can Tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 15 ounce can Tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 2 tbsp Chili seasoning
- 1 tsp Salt (Adjust to taste)
- 2 cups Cheddar cheese, sharp (Shredded, to sprinkle on top before serving)
Instructions
Preparation
- In a pan, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped garlic and diced onions to the beef and sauté until softened.
Cooking
- In a crockpot, combine the cooked beef mixture, sliced hot dogs, frozen tater tots, tomatoes with green chilies, tomato sauce, black pepper, chili seasoning, and salt.
- Stir well to combine all ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low for 5 hours.
- About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and cover until melted.
- Serve warm.
Notes
Serve straight from the crockpot. Optional toppings include extra cheddar, sliced green onions, pickled jalapeños, or sour cream. For lighter options, pair with a green salad.
